The Orioles enter the All-Star break on the back of a 6-5 win over the New York Yankees, and backed it up when they returned to action with 9-1 and 8-4 victories at Texas.
They dropped the series finale though, 3-2, and then travelled to Miami where they lost back-to-back meetings with the Marlins, 6-4 and 6-3.
Baltimore avoided being swept as they won the final meeting 7-6, and that pattern repeated itself at home to San Diego as they lost 6-4 and 9-4 before winning 8-6.
The Orioles backed up that win with an 11-5 victory over Toronto, and then rebounded from an 8-4 loss to the Rays with 6-2 and 10-4 successes.
Cleveland Guardians Form
Cleveland enter this series on a great run of form, having now won six of their previous eight games.
The Guardians made a winning return to action after the All-Star break, shutting out San Diego in a 7-0 victory.
They failed to back that up though, losing the next two meetings 7-0 and 2-1, and that skid reached three games with an 8-2 defeat to Detroit.
Cleveland rallied though, winning the next two games 5-4 and 2-1, and they then bounced back from a 3-0 defeat to the Tigers by sandwiching an 8-0 loss in Philadelphia with 3-1 and 4-3 wins.
The Guardians then moved on to Detroit for a two-game series and swept the Tigers with 8-4 and 5-0 victories.
Verdict
