New York went out on the road after that and started their six-game trip with a solid series in Seattle, winning 11-2 and 2-1 before losing 3-2.
The Yankees then moved on to Oakland and swept the Athletics in a three-game series, winning 4-2, 10-0 and 7-4.
Verdict
New York are the team in better form and Clarke Schmidt has given up less than Dean Kremer this season.
Everything points to the Yankees come away with the win in the opening game of this series.
