New York booked their place in the Division Series by eliminating Milwaukee on the road in the Wild Card round.
The Mets secured their place in the postseason by finishing second in the National League East with an 89-73 record, setting up that series with the Brewers.

Philadelphia secured their place in the playoffs, and a bye, by compiling a 95-67 record to finish top of the National League West.
The Phillies’ 95 wins gave them the second best regular season record in Major League Baseball behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers, who won 98 times.
They do not come into the postseason in the best of form though, having gone 4-6 across their final three series of the regular season.
Philadelphia’s mixed form included a four-game series with playoff opponents New York, which saw them lose three times.
The Phillies did at least wrap up that part of the season with a win, rebounding from 9-1 and 6-3 defeats in Washington with a 6-3 victory.
Verdict
Philadelphia are in good form at home despite the Game 1 loss and we expect a response here.
Luis Severino struggled in his last start for New York and the Phillies are capable of lighting him up in this one.
