Hermansson arrived in the UFC in September 2016 and between May 2018 and April 2019 he enjoyed his best run, winning four straight fights.
He has struggled for consistency since then however, going 3-4 in his last four fights as he has failed to put himself in contention for a title shot.
The 35-year-old Swede’s win streak was halted by a second round knockout loss at the hands of Jared Cannonier.
Hermansson bounced back quickly with a 78-second submission of Kelvin Gastelum, only to then drop a unanimous decision to Marvin Vettori.
He avoided back-to-back defeats by claiming a points win over Edmen Shahbazyan, but he again failed to follow up a victory as he lost to Sean Strickland via split decision in February 2022.
‘The Joker’ beat Chris Curtis via unanimous decision in his second outing that year, but he was unable to back it as he ended the year with a second-round knockout loss to Roman Dolidze.

Pyfer joined the UFC in 2022 after a successful showing on the Dana White’s Contender Series.
He made an immediate splash too, winning his first three fights for the premier promotion in mixed martial arts.
The 27-year-old American debuted with a first-round knockout victory over Alen Amedovski in September of that year.
Pyfer backed that up with another couple of stoppage wins in 2023 to put himself within touching distance of the rankings.
‘Bodybagz’ knocked out Gerald Meerschaert in the first round of their contest, and then tapped out Abdul Razak Alhassan in the second round of their bout last October.
