The Knicks ended 2023 on a three-game losing skid, but made a hot start to 2024 as they reeled off five consecutive wins, starting with a 112-106 win against Minnesota.
They backed that up with a 116-100 victory over Chicago, a 128-92 blowout of Philadelphia, a 121-105 success against Washington and a 112-84 rout of Portland.
New York’s form dipped a little as they sandwiched a 107-94 win at Memphis with a 128-124 defeat in Dallas and a 98-94 loss to Orlando, but they got back on track last week.
The Knicks played three straight games at home, beating Houston 109-94, Washington 113-109 and Toronto 126-100.
Brooklyn Nets Form
Brooklyn come into this matchup in bad form, having now lost 15 of their last 19 games.
The Nets lost five straight games in December, before briefly rallying over Christmas with back-to-back wins against Detroit.
Their form quickly took a turn for the worse though as they lost their final three games of 2023, and then started 2024 with a couple of road defeats.
Brooklyn ended their losing skid at five games with a 124-115 win against Oklahoma City, but their joy was short-lived as they then lost their next four outings.
The Nets ended that skid with a 130-112 win at the Los Angeles Lakers, but they failed to back that up as they were beaten 125-114 by the LA Clippers on Sunday night.
Verdict
New York are the better team in better form, so we fully expect them to cover the spread as they leave the Barclays Center with the 'W'.
