The Kings won just two of their first six games, but a 121-118 overtime win at home to Portland sparked a six-game win streak and kick-started their season.
They then beat Oklahoma City 105-98 and Cleveland 132-120 at home, before heading out on the road for six straight games.
Sacramento won 125-110 at the Los Angeles Lakers, and then travelled to San Antonio to beat the Spurs 129-120.
The Kings upset Dallas after that, 129-113, only to then lose a couple of meetings with New Orleans, 129-93 and 117-112.
Minnesota Timberwolves Form
Minnesota enter this matchup having won 10 of their last 11 games and each of the last three to reach 11-3.
The Timberwolves started a seven-game win streak on November 1 when they beat defending champions Denver, 110-89.
They then reeled off three more wins at home, beating Utah 123-95, Boston 114-109 in overtime and New Orleans 122-101 before heading out on the road.
Minnesota’s streak continued as they beat San Antonio 117-100, and that was followed by a couple of wins at Golden State, 116-110 and 104-101.
The Timberwolves’ run was halted by a 133-115 defeat in Phoenix, but they rebounded with a 121-120 win in New Orleans, and then returned home to beat New York 117-100 and Philadelphia 122-99.
