Detroit have rebounded from their Week 2 defeat by reeling off six consecutive wins to improve to 7-1.
The Lions opened the season with a 26-20 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams, only to then lost 20-16 at home to Tampa Bay.
They bounced back immediately with a 20-13 victory in Arizona, and backed that up as they returned home to down Seattle 42-29.
Detroit went back out on the road for the next two games and maintained their good run with a 47-9 demolition of Dallas and a big 31-29 win over division rivals Minnesota.
The Lions then returned home to blow out Tennessee, 52-14, before heading to Green Bay to beat the Packers 24-14 in another important NFC North showdown.
Houston Texans Form
Houston return home in need of a morale-boosting victory, having lost two of their last three games to slip to 6-3.
The Texans kicked off the campaign with back-to-back wins, beating Indianapolis 29-27 on the road and Chicago 19-13 at home.
They then lost 34-7 at Minnesota, only to respond with a three-game win streak that saw them beat Jacksonville 24-20 and Buffalo 23-20 at home, and New England 41-21 on the road.
Houston failed to make it four-in-a-row as they were beaten 24-22 in Green Bay, but they did respond immediately to complete the season sweep of Indianapolis with a 23-20 win.
However, the Texans failed to back that up last time out, as they lost 21-13 at the New York Jets.
Verdict
Houston’s form dipped prior to their bye week and now they face a tough test in Detroit.
The Lions have built up a head of steam and have been covering consistently too, so we are expecting another win and cover for Dan Campbell’s men in ‘H-town’.
