The Senators endured a seven-game losing skid between late February and the early part of March that was eventually ended by a 2-1 overtime win over Pittsburgh.
They then built on that victory when they went out on the road to beat Columbus by a shootout. Before downing the New York Islanders 4-3 in overtime.
Ottawa failed to keep that run going when they returned home though, as they lost 7-2 to Carolina, and that was followed by a 6-2 defeat in Boston and a 5-2 loss at home to St Louis.
The Senators have steadied the ship though, backing up a 5-2 win over New Jersey with a 5-3 success against Edmonton.
Buffalo Sabres Form
Buffalo enter this matchup looking to back up a victory over Calgary – their fifth win in their last eight games.
The Sabres started the month with a 7-2 upset of Vegas, only to then lose their next three games.
They stopped the rot with a shootout victory over Edmonton, and then backed that up with a 7-3 win against Detroit and a 4-0 shutout of the New York Islanders.
Buffalo’s run was halted by a 4-1 defeat in Detroit, and they then failed to build on a 6-2 success in Seattle as they lost 3-2 at Vancouver and 8-3 in Edmonton.
The Sabres wrapped up that road trip on a positive note though, beating Calgary 4-1 last weekend.
