Man City Form
Enzo Maresca’s Man City are in top form and have won 10 of their previous 12 matches, including six home victories.
The Citizens cruised into the EFL Cup fourth round after thrashing Norwich 5-0 at home. City dominated with 1.77-0.17 XG.
The Manchester outfit have defeated Sunderland 5-3, Ipswich 3-2 and AEK 5-1 at home since the Norwich cup triumph.
Maresca’s team lost for just the second time this season on Saturday following a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa. The Citizens had the better chances with 1.56-0.61 XG and Erling Haaland’s scored a second-half consolation goal.
Brighton Form
Brighton made a flying start to the 2026/27 campaign and went unbeaten in 11 of their opening 12 matches in all competitions.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side were on a six-match winning streak and beat Man United 3-2 away in the EFL Cup.
A drop-off in form has followed that run and Brighton are winless in their previous two. The Seagulls were held to a 0-0 Conference League draw at Jablonec and allowed 1.06 XG.
The south coast side then lost 2-0 at Liverpool. Brighton conceded twice in the opening 21 minutes and had just one shot on target.
Verdict
Man City control home games and have the luxury of rotating a top-quality squad in the EFL Cup. Brighton have been less convincing recently and a Citizens home win is the best bet.
