Man Utd vs Tottenham Predictions

Man Utd host Tottenham on Saturday as Premier League action returns to Old Trafford.

Both teams have struggled in the opening weeks of the season, but United's strong home record should stand them in good stead against winless Spurs.

Man Utd to win & over 2.5 goals is my best bet.

United Strong at Old Trafford

  • Man Utd won 8 of their last 10 home matches (Premier League)
  • Man Utd have seen over 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 10 home matches
  • Man Utd won 3 of their last 5 home matches against Tottenham
  • Tottenham lost 3 of their last 5 matches
  • Tottenham conceded 3 goals in their last 2 matches

Tottenham Hold Recent H2H Advantage

Man Utd and Tottenham have met on 15 occasions since 2020. Tottenham won six of those matches while Man United secured five wins. Four games finished level.

United claimed a 2-0 victory in their most recent encounter at Old Trafford.

United Winless in Four After Fulham Draw

Man Utd return to Old Trafford after a 1-1 draw at Fulham in their last Premier League outing before the international break.

Lisandro Martinez's own goal put the hosts ahead after 63 minutes before Matheus Cunha's 89th-minute strike secured a point.

United had chances to win the game, with Bruno Fernandes and Cunha both hitting the woodwork, while Bernd Leno made several important saves for the home side.

The Red Devils dominated the shot count (29-12), but Fulham created more big chances (3-2) and finished with a marginally higher xG (1.62 to 1.60).

Michael Carrick's side have now failed to win their last four domestic matches. The draw at Fulham came on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Man City and a 2-2 stalemate at Everton.

A 5-2 win against Ipswich remains United's only victory in six domestic fixtures this season.

Stronger at Old Trafford, the hosts won eight of their last 10 home Premiership matches. United scored 24 goals in those contests.

Tottenham Still Searching for First League Win

Tottenham head north to Manchester after a disappointing 3-2 home defeat against Aston Villa three weeks ago.

Roberto De Zerbi's side trailed by three goals before late efforts from Conor Gallagher and Jan Paul van Hecke provided slender consolation.

Spurs had failed to score in each of four previous EPL fixtures before those late goals against the Villans.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, the visitors find themselves bottom of the Premier League with just two points collected from five games.

A dismal year has seen Spurs win just three of 26 league matches.

While usually stronger on the road, De Zerbi's men have already suffered heavy away losses at Brentford (3-0) and Liverpool (3-1).

Man Utd vs Tottenham Lineups & Team News

Man Utd: (4-2-3-1) Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw; Kobbie Mainoo, Youri Tielemans; Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford; Matheus Cunha.

Man Utd boss Carrick has several injury concerns this weekend. Patrick Dorgu, Noussair Mazraoui, Benjamin Sesko, Amad and Matthijs de Ligt require fitness checks.

Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford are also doubtful to feature after withdrawing from international duty.

Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte remains a long-term absentee with an ACL injury.

Tottenham: (4-2-3-1) Antonin Kinsky; Archie Gray, Marcos Senesi, Micky van de Ven, Andrew Robertson; Rodrigo Bentancur, Sandro Tonali; Savinho, Mateus Fernandes, Omar Marmoush; Dominic Solanke.

Roberto De Zerbi also has several selection headaches ahead of Saturday's trip to Old Trafford.

Pedro Porro, Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert are unavailable, while Mykhailo Mudryk and Dejan Kulusevski are injury doubts.

Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven will be assessed closer to kick-off.

Verdict

While both teams have struggled in the first weeks of the season, United's reliable home form should prove the difference this weekend.

I have my stake on a home win with at least three goals at Old Trafford.
