New York Red Bulls vs Inter Miami Predictions & Picks
New York Red Bulls were handed a frustrating 2-0 loss in their last game as they slumped to consecutive defeats in the MLS.
Inter Miami eased past Atlanta United in their last outing as they secured a 3-1 win to make it three successive victories heading into this one.
- Miami have won their last three in the competition
- Red Bulls have lost three of their last four at home (W1)
Head To Head
Across their last 10 meetings, Miami have won five times, Red Bulls have won four games and one match has ended as a draw.
New York Red Bulls Form
New York Red Bulls have been poor this season, but they still have control of ninth-place in the Eastern Conference despite their disappointing run.
Three defeats across their last four is a hugely worrying run, and it means that Toronto are level on points with them while any of Columbus, New York City or DC could match or better their points tally if results go against the Red Bulls.
On their own patch, New York have only manged to win five of their 15 outings, with three games ending as draws and the other seven ending in defeat. They have also lost three of their last four on their own patch, while they are winless in their last four against Miami, having lost three times and drawn once.
With Miami in excellent form on the road and fighting to keep hold of second in the conference, I predict a tough outing for the home team.
Inter Miami Form
Since their 2-1 loss to Columbus at the end of September, Inter Miami have been excellent, winning their next three matches.
Wins over DC United (4-0), New York City (2-0) and Atlanta United (3-1) has ensured Miami have tightened their grip on second, but they still sit 12 points short of Nashville at the summit. With top of the tree out of reach, Miami will focus on ensuring they take one of the top spots.
Fortunately for the travelling side is the fact they have been better on the road than they have been at home. At home, Miami have won six of their 15 and picked up 25 points. On the road, they have won nine of their 15 and notched 30 points.
Against a side that has found it tough to win matches when hosting, I am backing the best away team in the MLS to surge to a crucial win.
Verdict
I am backing Miami to surge to an important victory as they put New York's place in the top-nine under serious threat.
