USA vs Peru Predictions

USA and Peru meet on Saturday as the hosts look to build on their strong performances at the World Cup earlier this summer.

The Americans reached the last 16 on home soil, while Peru are looking to rebuild after again failing to reach the finals.

With home advantage, a comfortable USA win should be on the cards at Inter&Co Stadium.

Recent Stats Point to USA Success

  • USA scored 2+ goals in 4 of their last 5 matches.
  • USA won 4 of their last 7 matches
  • Peru lost 6 of their last 10 matches
  • Peru conceded 2+ goals in 4 of their last 6 matches

USA Edge Recent Head-to-Head Record

USA and Peru have met in two previous friendly fixtures since 2015. The US edged to a 2-1 win in 2015 before a 1-1 draw three years later.

USA Look for World Cup Bounce

USA return to Orlando after a disappointing 4-1 defeat against Belgium in the World Cup round of 16 in July.

Charles De Ketelaere’s first-half brace put Belgium 2-1 ahead. Malik Tillman’s first-half equaliser briefly gave the US hope in Seattle, but De Ketelaere restored Belgium’s lead just two minutes later.

The co-hosts were second best for long periods. Belgium had more than twice as many shots (15-7) and finished with a higher xG total (2.15-0.67).

Mauricio Pochettino's side had begun the competition in sparkling form. The US secured big wins over Paraguay (4-1) and Australia (2-0) in the group phase before a 2-0 round of 32 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Despite their lacklustre defeat against Belgium, the US largely impressed in their home competition with an attack-minded approach, winning over many of the Pochettino sceptics.

The Stars and Stripes scored two goals or more in nine of their last 12 internationals. An average of 2.16 goals per game was scored in those fixtures.

Peru Look to Rebuild

Peru return to international action after a 3-1 friendly defeat against Spain in their last fixture three months ago.

Jairo Velez’s second-half goal proved consolation only after Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedri had put Spain 2-0 ahead at the break.

Pedro Gallese’s own goal early in the second half sealed a comfortable friendly win for Luis de la Fuente’s side.

The South Americans have struggled to lift their game since failing to qualify for the World Cup at the end of 2025. Peru lost four and won two of eight international friendlies in the past year.

Over a longer period, La Blanquirroja lost nine, while winning only four of 23 games played since June 2024.

Defensive fragilities have been evident in their recent friendly fixtures. Mano Menezes’s men conceded two goals or more in six of their last ten matches.
