Vancouver Whitecaps vs Seattle Sounders Predictions & Picks
Vancouver Whitecaps recently moved four points clear at the top of the Western Conference as their win over San Diego allowed them to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Colorado.
Seattle Sounders have failed to win a match since October 11, with their 1-0 loss to Houston in their last game seeing their poor run extended.
- Seattle have failed to win either of their last two on the road (L1, D1)
Head To Head
In their last 10 meetings, Vancouver have won three times, Seattle have four wins and three games have ended as draws.
Vancouver Whitecaps Form
Vancouver Whitecaps took advantage of both FC Dallas and St Louis losing their latest matches as their 4-1 win over San Diego sent the leaders four points clear at the summit of the Western Conference.
While they have been far from perfect across their last 10, Vancouver have secured two wins in their last three with victories over Austin (2-1) and San Diego (4-1). Prior to this, they had notched two wins across their previous seven, losing twice and drawing three times.
While their return of 15 points from a possible 30 is disappointing, they are still at the summit of the Western Conference and will be very confident that they can make the most out of the four point lead they have over FC Dallas in second.
Seattle Sounders Form
Seattle Sounders have struggled across their last five with a single win coming alongside two draws and two defeats.
Prior this one they were stunned by Houston Dynamo in a 1-0 home loss. This defeat was a fifth loss on their own patch this season. On the road, Seattle have struggled, winning just four of their 16. With six draws and six defeats coming in this time, the Sounders have taken 18 of a possible 48 points on the road.
Currently sitting in eighth in the Western Conference, Seattle are two clear of LA Galaxy in 10th. A victory in this one would only tighten their grip on one of the top spots, but travelling to face the best side in the conference is a test I predict they will fail.
Verdict
I am backing Vancouver to secure a win as they hand Seattle a tough loss.
