Alex de Minaur vs Carlos Alcaraz Betting Picks & Live Stream – De Minaur’s Handicap Holds Appeal in Vienna
- Tip: De Minaur to keep it close via handicap or games markets
- Alcaraz leads the rivalry 6-0 but is not at his best currently
- An outright de Minaur win is seen as unlikely

Carlos Alcaraz has owned this rivalry, winning all six of his meetings with Alex de Minaur. That kind of record leaves a deep mental scar, and the Australian has often looked short of belief against players of this calibre.
This time, though, the picture is a little different. Alcaraz is far from his best and has been surprisingly generous on serve, and if de Minaur can reproduce the level he showed against Alexander Zverev in the semifinals, he has every chance of dragging this into a lengthy battle.
De Minaur Aims to Convert Indoor Momentum Into Vienna Title
- De Minaur has a 1-2 record in tour-level finals in 2026.
- He has a 2-2 record against top-five players this year.
- Alcaraz has a 13-2 career record in hard-court finals.
- He has a 5-2 record against top-10 players this year.

De Minaur Extends Perfect Indoor Run to 10 Matches
Alex de Minaur knocked out top seed and world No. 1 Alexander Zverev in three sets to reach the final in Vienna, winning 6-4, 1-6, 7-6. Apart from the second set, he did not face a break point in either of the other two sets.
De Minaur will be relieved with his result this week, having previously reached two semifinals in Vienna, both of which ended in defeat. With this victory, he has extended his winning streak on indoor hard courts to 10 matches following his title-winning campaign in Rotterdam earlier this year.
After a disappointing North American swing, he came close to dropping out of the top 10 in the rankings. However, his final appearance in Beijing, quarterfinal run in Shanghai and current success in Vienna have helped him consolidate his position among the top 10. He has now shifted his focus towards qualifying for the ATP Finals, currently sitting eighth in the race.
De Minaur heads into the final with an 11-13 career record in tour-level finals, including a 1-2 record at this stage this year.

Alcaraz Reaches First Vienna Final After Medvedev Win
Carlos Alcaraz moved into the final after defeating Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in Vienna, winning 6-4, 7-6. Despite losing his serve twice, he never trailed at any stage of the match.
This is Alcaraz's best result in Vienna. His only previous appearance at the tournament came in 2021, when he reached the semifinals. He will now be looking to claim the title this week.
The Spaniard sustained an injury earlier this year and returned only at the US Open after more than four months away, where he lost in the quarterfinals. However, he has shown improved performances in recent weeks, winning the title in Tokyo and reaching the final in Vienna.
This is only the fourth indoor hard-court final of Alcaraz's career. He won the title at the Next Gen Finals in 2021 and Rotterdam in 2024 but lost in the final of the ATP Finals in 2024.

Verdict
An outright upset still feels a stretch, so the smarter play is on de Minaur keeping things tight. Three markets fit that angle neatly: de Minaur +4.5 games on the handicap, de Minaur to win a set, and de Minaur to win over 8.5 games in the match.
