Texas came into this series on the back of a victory that a snapped a three-game losing run.
The Rangers rallied in late August as they bounced back from an eight-game losing skid with three wins in a four-game spell.
They ended the slump with a 6-2 win in Minnesota, and then bounced back from a 7-6 defeat with a couple of wins in New York.
Texas downed the Mets 4-3 and 2-1, before losing the final game 6-5 as they split the series.
The Rangers then suffered back-to-back home defeats to Minnesota, losing 5-1 and 9-7, but they were able to end the week on a positive note, beating the Twins 6-5 on Sunday.
