Los Angeles Dodgers Form

Los Angeles went 7-4 in the playoffs as they booked their place in the 2024 World Series.

The Dodgers compiled a league-best 98-64 record in the regular season to claim the National League West, but their postseason form was not as dominant.

They beat San Diego 7-5 in the opener, only to then lost the next two meetings with the Padres, 10-2 at home and 6-5 on the road.

Los Angeles bounced back though, winning the next two meetings 8-0 at 2-0 to clinch the series and advance.

The Dodgers split the first two games of the series with the New York Mets, winning 9-0 and losing 7-3, before opening up a two-game lead with 8-0 and 10-2 road wins.

They failed to take their first opportunity to clinch, losing 12-6 on the road, but took their second chance when they returned home to beat the Mets 10-5.

New York Yankees Form

New York enjoyed a dominant run to the World Series, dropping just two of their nine games as they progressed.

The Yankees put together a 94-68 regular-season record to win the American League East and secure a place in the playoffs.

They made a winning start to the series with Kansas City, beating the Royals 6-5, only to then lose the second home game, 4-2.

New York rebounded on the road though as they wrapped up the series with 3-2 and 3-1 victories in Kansas City.

The Yankees then got off to a fast start in the series with Cleveland reeling off 5-2 and 6-3 wins at home, only to then lose their first road game of the series, 7-5.

They again rebounded emphatically from a defeat though, this time winning 8-6 and 5-2 in Cleveland to seal their place in the World Series.
