The Dodgers began this sequence with a 10-0 shutout of the New York Mets, which was followed by a three-game sweep of the Nationals in Washington.
They then won two of their three games in Toronto, before heading to Arizona to win two of the three meetings with the Diamondbacks.
Los Angeles’ second win in Arizona started a seven-game streak that saw them return home to beat Atlanta 4-3, 11-2 and 5-1, and Miami 6-3, 8-2 and 3-1.
The Dodgers’ tear ended in San Diego though, as they sandwiched a 5-0 win over the Padres with 2-1 and 4-0 defeats.
San Francisco Giants Form
San Francisco came into this series on the back of a couple of wins, but in poor form having lost six of their previous 10 games.
The Giants’ rough run started in Philadelphia as they were swept in a four-game series, losing 4-3, 14-3, 5-4 and 6-1 to the Phillies.
They finally stopped the rot in Colorado as they backed up a 5-0 shutout of the Rockies with an 8-6 victory.
San Francisco missed out on the sweep though, losing the final meeting 9-1, and they then returned home for a 4-2 defeat to Cincinnati.
The Giants took the next two meetings with the Reds however, running out 5-1 and 6-5 winners to enter this series with Los Angeles on a positive note.
