Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse Predictions & Picks

Salahdine Parnasse is tipped to win by knockout in his UFC debut.

Parnasse combines fast footwork with clinical striking and excellent grappling, and that, coupled with his southpaw stance, make him a nightmare opponent for Dan Hooker.

  • Salahdine Parnasse is on a 5-fight win streak
  • Each of Salahdine Parnasse’s last 6 wins have been by KO/TKO
  • Dan Hooker was knocked out in his most recent fight
  • Dan Hooker has been stopped with strikes on 4 occasions in the UFC

Dan Hooker Form

Dan Hooker is the number 10-ranked lightweight contender with a professional record of 24-14 (11 KOs, 7 Subs).

Hooker debuted in the UFC back in 2014, but struggled for consistency early on as he split his first six fights before embarking on a four-fight run that included a first-round knockout of Gilbert Burns.

The 36-year-old New Zealander’s surge was ended by a third-round knockout loss to Edson Barboza in December 2018, but he responded to that setback with a three-fight win streak that earned him more high-profile fights.

His streak was ended by a decision defeat to Dustin Poirier, and he then suffered a first-round knockout loss to Michael Chandler before beating Nasrat Haqparast on points.

Hooker failed to follow that up as he was tapped out in the opening round by Islam Makhachev, and it became back-to-back defeats in March 2022 as he was knocked out in the first by Arnold Allen.

He ended that year on a positive note as he knocked out Claudio Puelles in the second, and backed that up over his next couple of fights as he beat both Jalin Turner and Mateusz Gamrot on points.

However, Hooker has not tasted victory since the win over Gamrot in August 2024, suffering a second-round submission loss to Arman Tsarukyan in 2025 and a second-round knockout defeat to Benoit Saint Denis back in February of this year.

Salahdine Parnasse Form

Salahdine Parnasse makes his UFC debut boasting a professional record of 23-2 (8 KOs, 7 Subs).

Parnasse enjoyed a successful run with the Polish-based KSW promotion, winning and successfully defending both the featherweight and lightweight titles on multiple occasions.

He wrapped up his stint with KSW by reeling off three consecutive knockout wins, starting with a first-round stoppage of Valeriu Mircea.

The 28-year-old Frenchman then stopped both Marian Zioikowski and Marcin Held in the second round, before signing to appear on the huge Netflix card that was headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano.

In front of his biggest audience to date, Parnasse knocked out Kenneth Cross in the first round to earn himself this shot with the UFC.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Dan Hooker is a good early test for Salahdine Parnasse, but we expect him to pass it with flying colours.

His biggest strengths expose Hooker’s biggest weaknesses, so we are expecting a knockout victory for the Frenchman.
