Mackenzie Dern is the #8 ranked fighter in the women’s strawweight division with a 12-3 (7 Subs) professional record.
Dern reeled off five consecutive wins before signing with the UFC in 2018, and made a successful debut inside the Octagon when she earned a split decision win over Ashley Yoder.
She then tapped out Amanda Cooper in the first round of her next outing, but failed to make it three-in-a-row as she dropped a decision to Amanda Ribas.
The 30-year-old rebounded quickly with first round submission wins over Hannah Cifers and Randa Markos, and then beat Virna Jandiroba by decision.
Dern made it four-in-a-row by tapping out Nina Nunes in the first, but she has struggled for consistency since then.
She dropped a decision to Marina Rodriguez in late December 2021, before bouncing back with a split decision win against Tecia Torres in April 2022.
Dern failed to make it back-to-back wins last October through, losing to Yan Xiaonan via majority decision.
Angela Hill Form
Angela Hill is ranked #14 in the women’s strawweight division and has a 15-12 professional record (5 KOs).
Hill debuted in the UFC back in 2017 and struggled to establish herself as she went 3-5 in her first eight fights.
The UFC kept her around though and she enjoyed her best run of form between late 2019 and early 2020 as she reeled off three consecutive wins.
Hill earned TKO wins against Ariana Camelossi and Hannah Cifers, before downing Loma Lookboonmee by unanimous decision.
Her form nose-dived after that though, as she went on to lose five of her next five fights, dropping decisions to Claudia Gadelha, Michelle Waterson, Tecia Torres, Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba.
The 38-year-old American’s sole victory during that time was a decision win over Ashley Yoder in March 2021.
Hill does go into this fight on the back of a couple of wins though, having beaten Lupita Godinez and Emily Ducote by unanimous decision in 2022.
