The main event for this big card is a trilogy fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title.
These two men first met back in December 2015, with Usman winning via unanimous decision that night, but since then Edwards has been on a great run of form. He is unbeaten in 11 consecutive fights, with his only failure to win in that time coming when his fight with Belal Muhammad had to be stopped due to an accidental eye poke. The fight was deemed a No Contest.
During this run the Jamaica-born fighter has taken on and beaten some big names in Rafael dos Anjos and Nate Diaz. But of course, the biggest of the lot is Kamaru Usman, who he knocked out with a head kick in the final round of their fight last August to become welterweight champion.
The question is, can he know make it back-to-back wins over Usman and by taking the rubber match?
Usman will have his sights set firmly on getting revenge for a defeat that ended his dominant reign over the welterweight division and a 19-fight win streak that took him to the summit. That run saw ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ beat the likes of Jorge Masvidal (twice), Colby Covington (twice) and Tyron Woodley.
But can Usman prove last summer’s loss was purely a fluke?
