Phoenix began that schedule on the road and followed up a 118-114 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers with a 115-97 win in Detroit.
The Suns then lost at home to Detroit, 109-91, before failing to follow up a 118-114 victory in Denver as they lost their pre-season finale against the Lakers, 128-122 in overtime.
LA Clippers Form
LA Clippers suffered a massive blow on the eve of the season, as they lost Kawhi Leonard “indefinitely” due to a knee injury.
The absence of Leonard is a big blow for a Clippers team who also fell at the first hurdle in last season’s playoffs.
They go into their season-opener on the back of a strong pre-season though, having won four of their five games.
LA kicked off their pre-season schedule with a 91-90 defeat to Golden State, but quickly rebounded to beat Brooklyn 115-106 and Portland 101-99.
The Clippers then beat the team who eliminated them last season, the Dallas Mavericks, 110-96, before wrapping up pre-season with a 113-91 victory over Sacramento.
