Houston vs Purdue Preview & Picks

Houston are tipped to stay on course in their quest for a national championship.

The Cougars have been on a relentless run this season and their outstanding defensive play can put the clamps on Purdue’s offense.

  • Houston have lost just 1 game since November
  • Houston are 3-1-1 ATS in tournament action this month
  • Purdue are 4-6-0 ATS in their previous 10 games
  • The Under has cashed in 7 of Houston’s last 10 games

Head To Head

  • This is the first meeting between the two schools

Houston Form

Houston go into this matchup with Purdue in phenomenal form, having won a season-best 15 consecutive games.

The Cougars dropped three of their first seven regular season games before roaring into life with a 13-game win streak

When that run was ended they responded with a 10-game winning run to go into the Big 12 tournament in fantastic form.

Houston took that streak to 13 games as they claimed the conference crown, beating Colorado 77-68, BYU 74-54 and Arizona 72-64 during their run.

The Cougars then extended it to 15 games in the first two rounds of March Madness, following up a 78-40 demolition of SIU Edwardsville with an 81-76 win over Gonzaga.

Purdue Form

Purdue enter this game in improved form, having rebounded from the rough run in late February with five wins in their last seven games.

The Boilermakers lost four straight late in the regular season, but rallied with back-to-back wins before losing the finale at Illinois.

They responded to that loss with a 76-71 victory over Southern California in the Big Ten tournament, but they were no match for Michigan in the next round as they lost 86-68.

Purdue bounced back in the opening round of March Madness as they saw off High Point, 75-63.

The Boilermakers then secured their place in the Sweet 16 of the national tournament by beating McNeese State 76-62.
