Kansas Form

Kansas are riding a 10-game win streak into Monday’s National Championship game.

The Jayhawks started this run in their final few games of the regular season and continued it was they clinched the Big 12 conference tournament.

They kicked off their March Madness quest with an 83-56 blowout of Texas Southern, before seeing off Creighton 79-72.

Kansas then earned a spot in the Elite Eight with a 66-61 win over #13 Providence.

That set up a meeting with surprise package Miami (FL), and the Jayhawks found themselves trailing 35-29 at halftime.

Their response was emphatic though, as they outscored the Hurricanes 47-15 in the second half to win 76-50.

Ochai Agbaji led the Jayhawks with 18 points, while Jalen Wilson dominated in the paint with 11 rebounds.

They had no such issues in the Final Four as they race out of the blocks and never looked back to roll over #6 Villanova.

David McCormack led the team in scoring as he shot 83.3% from the field to put up 25 points.

Ochai Agbaji was light’s out from three-point range, making six of his seven attempts as he ended the game with 21 points.

Kansas are shooting 47.9% from field goal range to average 78.4 points per game.

They are allowing opponents to shoot 40.9% from the field while giving up 67.2 points per game.

North Carolina Form

North Carolina have put their conference tournament disappointment behind them to make the National Championship game.

The Tar Heels ended the regular season on a five-game win streak that included a win over Kansas.

However, their momentum stalled in the second round of the ACC conference tournament as they lost 72-59 to Virginia Tech.

They rebounded from that by demolishing Marquette, 95-63, in the first round of March Madness, and built on that with a big upset.

North Carolina dumped out defending champions, #4 Baylor, in a deserved 93-86 overtime win to reach the Sweet 16.

The Tar Heels then downed #11 UCLA 73-66, before ending St Peter’s fairytale run with a 69-49 blowout in the Elite Eight.

Armando Bacot had a monster game against the Peacocks, racking up 22 rebounds to go along with his 22 points, while Brady Manek also played a key role with 19 points and eight boards.

North Carolina then edge the latest instalment of their rivalry with Duke, 81-77, in the Final Four.

Caleb Love led the way with 27 points, while Bacot dominated in the paint with 21 rebounds to go along with 11 points.

North Carolina are shooting 45.1% from the field and rank in the top 20 in the nation in points per game, averaging 78.1 per outing.

The Tar Heels are allowing opponents to shoot 42.5% from the floor, while giving up 71.3 points per game.

Verdict

Will North Carolina be due a ‘comedown’ after such an emotional win over Duke in the Final Four?

Kansas are in red-hot form and have just played three great halves of basketball.

The Jayhawks ruthlessly took out Villanova and are now backed to complete a successful March Madness mission.
