  • West Virginia are 7-1-0 ATS in their 8 wins
  • North Carolina are 2-4 in their last 6 games
  • North Carolina are 1-5-0 ATS in their last 6 matchups
  • The Over has cashed in 6 of West Virginia’s last 7 games

Head To Head

  • The all-time series is tied 1-1
  • West Virginia won 31-30 when the two teams last met in December 2008

North Carolina Form

North Carolina enter this Bowl Game on a bad run of form, having lost four of the last six to finish 8-4.

The Tar Heels opened the season with six straight wins, but their form collapsed after the 41-31 win over #25 Miami FL.

They were beaten 31-27 at home by Virginia, before heading to Georgia Tech for a 46-42 defeat at the hands of the Yellow Jackets.

North Carolina briefly rallied as they blew out Campbell 59-7 before beating Duke 47-45, but their joy was short-lived.

The Tar Heels wrapped up the regular season with two more defeats, losing 31-20 at Clemson and 39-20 at NC State.

West Virginia Form

West Virginia come into the Mayo Bowl having won four of their final five regular season games to finish 8-4.

The Mountaineers lost their season opener at #7 Penn State, 38-15, but bounced back quickly to win their next four games.

That run was halted by back-to-back defeats in Big 12 action, but they responded well to that setback to win four of their last five.

West Virginia beat UFC 41-28 on the road, before heading home to take down Brigham-Young, 37-7.

The Mountaineers then rebounded from a 59-20 loss at #17 Oklahoma by beating Cincinnati 42-21, and backed that up by beating Baylor 34-31 in their regular season finale.
