Oregon head back out on the road boasting a perfect 6-0 record that has propelled them to #2 in AP’s College Football rankings.
The Ducks opened up the season as a top-three teams, but lost that position with a couple of lacklustre victories at home.
They opened up with a 24-14 win over Idaho, before battling their way to a 37-34 victory when they hosted Boise State.
Oregon began their climb back up the rankings with a couple of convincing road wins, beating Oregon State 49-14 before downing UCLA 34-13.
The Ducks the beat Michigan State 31-10 at home, before registering their biggest win of the season so far, beating Ohio State 32-31 to replace the Buckeyes in the number two spot.
Purdue Form
Purdue enter this Big Ten showdown in bad form, having now lost each of their previous five games to fall to 1-5.
The Boilermakers got off to a winning start as they shut out Indiana State 49-0, but as soon as the quality of opposition improved their form nose-dived.
Their five-game skid started with a 66-7 defeat at the hands of Notre Dame, which was followed by a 38-21 loss at Oregon State.
Purdue then returned home to lose 28-10 to Nebraska, before heading back out on the road for a couple of defeats that saw them cough up at least 50 points.
The Boilermakers were blown out in Wisconsin, 52-6, before travelling to Illinois for a 50-49 defeat at the hands of the Fighting Illini.
