UCF vs Florida Picks & Betting Tips

Florida are tipped to cover a one-touchdown spread in the Gasparilla Bowl.

UCF were in good form late in the season but they feasted on poor opposition in that run.

Florida have been far from great, but the Knights are not good on the road so we are backing the Gators.

  • UCF are 1-4 on the road this season
  • UCF are 1-4-0 ATS on the road this season
  • UCF are 0-2-0 ATS as a 7+ point underdog this season
  • UCF are 0-2 as a betting underdog this season
  • UCF lose by an average of 31 points per game as a betting underdog

Head To Head

  • Florida lead the all-time series 2-0
  • Florida won 42-0 when the teams last met in 2006

UCF Form

UCF ended the regular season in good form with five wins from their final six games.

A 56-21 blowout defeat in Cincinatti left them 3-3 in mid-October but they rallied to beat Memphis and Temple over their next two games, allowing one touchdown in each.

The narrow win over Tulane was followed by a 55-28 demolition at the hands of SMU.

The Knights again bounced back though, wrapping up their schedule with wins over Connecticut and South Florida.

QB Mikey Keene replaced Dillon Gabriel during the season and went 159/250 for 1,586 yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Ryan O’Keefe was UCF’s leading receiver with 727 yards and six TDs. He also has 164 yards and a score on the ground, while also throwing two TD passes.

RB Johnny Richardson racked up 890 yards from scrimmage and seven TDs, while Isaiah Bowser had 624 yards and seven TDs in limited appearances.

Florida Form

2021 has been a season to forget for Florida who went 6-6 and finished just 2-6 in conference play.

Florida started the season with back-to-back wins and came agonisingly close to upsetting #1 Alabama in a 31-29 defeat.

They bounced back from that loss to the Crimson Tide by blowing out Tennessee, but it was all downhill from there.

They lost to Kentucky, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri as they went 3-5 across their last eight games.

Florida’s miserable run cost Dan Mullen his job with a week to go in the season and he will be replaced by Billy Napier.

QB Emory Jones endured a rollercoaster of form as he went 209/309 for 2,562 yards, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

He did lead the team in rushing with 696 yards and four scores, while he also caught a TD pass too.

Dameon Pierce and Malik Davis shared running back duties and combined for 1,354 yards from scrimmage and 21 TDs.

Jacob Copeland was Florida’s leading receiver with 604 yards and four touchdowns off 39 catches.
