New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers Preview & Picks

The Under is tipped to cash in this Thursday night clash.

New England’s offense has been terrible this season, but the defense has done a solid job at times.

This group should be good enough to slow a Pittsburgh offense led by backup QB Mitchell Trubisky.

  • The Under has cashed in 9 of New England’s last 11 games
  • The Under has hit in 9 of Pittsburgh’s last 11 games
  • 5 of Pittsburgh’s 7 wins this season have been by 6 points or less
  • Each of New England’s last 4 losses have been by 6 points or less

Head To Head

  • New England Patriots lead the all-time series 18-16
  • New England Patriots won 17-14 when the two teams last met in September 2022

New England Patriots Form

New England head to Pittsburgh having lost each of their last five games to fall to 2-10 for the season.

The Patriots have not won a game since they pulled off a surprise 29-25 win at home to Buffalo back on October 22.

They were brought back down to Earth by a 31-17 loss in Miami, and they then fell to a 20-17 defeat at home to Washington.

New England have lost three more times since then, with an inept offense putting up just 13 total points across those games.

The Patriots were beaten 10-6 at home by Indianapolis and then lost 10-7 at the New York Giants, before being shut out in a 6-0 home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last weekend.

Pittsburgh Steelers Form

Pittsburgh came into this short week on the back of a defeat that dropped them to 7-5 for the season.

The Steelers put themselves right in the playoff hunt during November as they won three times in a four-game spell.

They started this sequence with a couple of home wins, beating Tennessee 20-16 and Green Bay 23-19.

Pittsburgh failed to make it three-in-a-row as they dropped a big division game in Cleveland, 13-10, although they bounced back immediately to beat Cincinnati 16-10.

The Steelers were unable to make it back-to-back wins though, as they were beaten 24-10 by Arizona in a game that saw Kenny Pickett suffer an injury that will sideline him for this one.
