Minnesota enter the new season with their sights firmly set on a return to the postseason in 2027.
The Wild made it to the playoffs last season, booking their place by compiling a 46-24-12 record to finish third in the Central Division.
They were paired with Dallas in the first round, and despite not having home advantage they were able to earn their first playoff-series victory since 2015.
Minnesota rebounded from back-to-back defeats to win three straight games and secure a 4-2 series success against the Stars.
The Wild were unable to follow that up though, as they were beaten in five games by Colorado in the next round.
Nashville Predators Form
Nashville come into the 2026/27 season looking to improve on a rough campaign that saw them miss out on the playoffs.
The Predators put together a record of 38-34-10 last season – which was only good enough for sixth place in the Central Division.
Despite that disappointment they retained the services of head coach Andrew Brunette, but there have been some notable changes in the offseason.
Chris MacFarland arrived as president of hockey operations and general manager, with former Los Angeles Kings general manager Rob Blake joining the front office.
Nashville then reshaped its roster, acquiring Ross Colton, Jack Drury, Nils Hoglander, Mavrik Bourque, Ilya Lyubushkin and Alexander Kerfoot.
