Tampa Bay leapfrogged their divisional rival Toronto Maple Leafs into 2nd in the Atlantic Division when they beat the Maple Leafs 5-3 on December 9th at the Scotiabank Arena.
That was a statement win for the Lightning and I expect the unbeaten run in the month of December to continue when they visit the Canadian Tire Centre to face the Ottawa Senators.
Ottawa aren’t having a great season and I expect that it won’t get any better when the Lightning come to town. Ottawa are near the bottom of a lot of the league’s stats charts, and it would take an impressive performance from the Senators to beat the Stanley Cup Holders.
Personally, I don’t see it happening and I am backing a comfortable win in the Lightning’s fight for top seed.

Another threat for Ottawa is 22-year-old C Josh Norris, leading the goals tally by 3 goals for the Ottawa based franchise. Norris was a 1st round pick in the 2017 draft for the San Jose Sharks and was traded to Ottawa in 2018 and he’s taken his chance in Canada early in his career.
