Ryan Garcia is the current WBC welterweight world champion with a professional record of 25-2 (20 KOs) with 1 No Contest.
Garcia made his professional debut in June 2016, and wasted little time in climbing the ladder as he reeled off a string of quickfire knockout wins.
He claimed the WBC silver lightweight title in November 2019 when he knocked out Romero Duno in just 98 seconds, and successfully defended it the following year when he stopped Francisco Fonseca in 80 seconds.
That earned him his first shot at a world title in early 2021, and ‘King Ry’ took his big chance as he stopped Luke Campbell in the seventh round to claim the interim WBC lightweight championship.
Garcia stepped away from boxing for several months after that victory, resulting in him surrendering the interim title, but when he returned to action in 2022 he made up for lost time with a unanimous decision win over Emmanuel Tagoe and a sixth-round knockout of Javier Fortuna.
However, his perfect professional record finally received its first blemish in April 2023, when he was knocked out by Gervonta Davis in the seventh round, and his career has stalled since then.
The 27-year-old American rebounded with an eighth round knockout of Oscar Duarte, but he failed to back that up as he missed weight and then saw his decision win over Devin Haney get overturned to a No Contest after he failed a drug test.
When Garcia returned to action a year later he was out-pointed by Rolando Romero, but he did finally end his drought earlier this year when he beat Mario Barrios by unanimous decision to claim the WBC title.

Conor Benn – the son of British boxing legend Nigel – enters this contest boasting a professional record of 25-1 (14 KOs).
Benn turned professional back in April 2016 and quickly rattled off a bunch of wins to earn himself a shot at the continental welterweight title in July 2018.
He claimed that championship with a unanimous decision win over Cedrick Peynaud, and went on to enjoy several successful defences as he beat the likes of Sebastian Formell, Samuel Vargas and Chris Algeri.
His final defence of that title came in April 2022 when he took just two rounds to knock out Chris van Heerden.
That victory set up a long-awaited showdown with Chris Eubank Jr – which would continue to storied rivalry between the two families – but that fight was shelved when Benn failed a drug test and gave up his licence.
Benn’s suspension was lifted the following year, only to then be re-imposed, and it would be September 2023 before he stepped back into the ring to resume his career.
The 29-year-old Londoner enjoyed a winning return to action as he beat Rodolfo Orozco by unanimous decision, and he followed that up with a points win against Peter Dobson to again set up a showdown with Eubank Jr.
This time the fight took place, in April 2025, but it was Benn who came up short as a unanimous decision defeat condemned him to the first loss of his career.
‘The Destroyer’ avenged that loss seven months later, winning on points, and he followed that up in April of this year when he beat Regis Prograis by unanimous decision.
