Jack Draper is still working his way back to full fitness following his injury layoff, but he has managed his workload well by winning all of his matches in straight sets so far. Keeping points and matches short is likely to remain the key to his success until he is fully fit again. Fortunately for the Briton, his powerful serve and aggressive game are perfectly suited to that approach on grass.

Against an out-of-form Gabriel Diallo, Draper should have the quality to stay in control and avoid a physically demanding contest.

Draper Eyes Home Semifinal

  • Jack Draper holds a 3–2 record in grass-court quarterfinals.
  • He owns a 4–1 record against players outside the Top 50 in 2026.
  • Gabriel Diallo has a 2–2 record in tour-level quarterfinals.
  • He holds a 4–10 record against players outside the Top 100 this year.

Draper Chases Best Result Since Injury Return

Jack Draper advanced to the Eastbourne quarterfinals after defeating fellow Brit Jack Pinnington Jones 7-5, 6-4. He dropped serve once and converted three of the four break points he created during the match.

Draper is now one win away from reaching his second Eastbourne semifinal. His previous run came in 2022, when he defeated Jenson Brooksby, Diego Schwartzman and Ryan Peniston in straight sets before losing to Maxime Cressy in the semifinals.

The Brit was ranked as high as No. 4 in the world at this stage last year, but an arm injury halted his progress and forced him to miss the Australian swing before returning in February. A knee injury during the European clay season then sidelined him again for another two months.

After missing a significant number of ranking points over the last 12 months, Draper has dropped outside the top 150. This is only his second tour-level quarterfinal of the season after reaching the last eight at Indian Wells, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev.

Gabriel Diallo Wins Another Three-Set Battle

Gabriel Diallo moved into the quarterfinals after back-to-back comeback victories over Terence Atmane and Tomas Martin Etcheverry. He defeated Atmane 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 before beating Etcheverry 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.

This is the third tour-level grass-court quarterfinal of Diallo's career. He won the title in 's-Hertogenbosch and lost in the quarterfinals in Mallorca, with both results coming in 2025.

The run ended a five-match losing streak on the ATP Tour and gave him consecutive main-draw wins for the first time since Indian Wells. Before this week, that remained his only multi-win run at tour level this season.

Diallo holds a 2-2 record in tour-level quarterfinals. He converted both of his previous quarterfinal victories into finals, including his title run in Almaty in 2024.
