Derek Brunson is enjoying his best run of form since a five-fight win streak between August 2014 and September 2016.
Brunson’s momentum stalled in 2018 when he suffered TKO defeats to Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and Israel Adesanya.
He bounced back though in 2019 as registered a decision win over Elias Theodorou.
Brunson needed the judges again as he beat Ian Heinisch in August of that year, but the pandemic delayed his quest for a third straight win.
The 37-year-old American finally got the chance to extend his win streak in August 2020 and he took it by stopping Edmen Shahbazyan in the third round.
He then made it four-in-a-row in March by securing a five-round decision win over Kevin Holland.
That victory took Brunson’s professional MMA record to 22-7, with 12 wins coming via knockout and three by submission.

Darren Till Form
Darren Till is looking to kickstart his UFC title defeat after a difficult three-year spell in and outside of the Octagon.
The Liverpool fighter enjoyed a swift rise up the welterweight ladder after debuting in May 2015.
In September 2018 he received a shot at then-champion Tyron Woodley and he was outclassed before being submitted in round two.
The 28-year-old Liverpudlian was then knocked out by Jorge Masvidal in the second round when he returned to action several months later.
Till made the decision to move back to middleweight after that loss and he got back to winning ways in his return to 185lbs.
‘The Gorilla’ edged a split decision win over former title contender Kelvin Gastelum.
In his next outing he was bested over five rounds by former champion Robert Whittaker, but he did receive praise for his performance.
Injuries have kept Till on the shelf since then, so he will be eager to make up for lost time and improved his 18-3-1 record with a win over Brunson.
Till has 10 knockout wins on his record, with two submission successes. He has been knocked out once and tapped out once.
