The Nittany Lions opened with a 16-10 win at #12 Wisconsin that started their rise from #19, and they followed it up with a 44-13 win over Ball State.
A 28-20 victory over #22 Auburn saw them climb to #6 before wins over Villanova (38-17) and Indiana (24-0) pushed them into the #4 spot.
However, last weekend’s 23-20 loss to #3 Iowa meant their stay in the top four was shortlived.
QB Sean Clifford is 118/178 for 1,482 yards, 11 touchdowns and five picks this season. He has also rushed for 172 yards and a couple of scores, but he could miss this game through injury.
Ta’Quan Roberson deputised when Clifford was forced out of the Iowa game and he had a rough day, going 7/21 for just 34 yards and two picks.
Jahan Dotson leads the team in receiving with 494 yards and six touchdowns off 43 catches, while Parker Washington has 357 yards and two scores off 28 receptions.
In the backfield, Noah Cain and Keyvone Lee have combined for 507 yards from scrimmage and six TDs.
