Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals Predictions & Picks

The Over is tipped to cash in the opening pre-season game.

Both defenses struggled last season and are likely to be weakened with starters sitting this one out, so we could see a couple of makeshift offenses enjoy a little success in this one.

  • Each of the last four Hall of Fame Games have produced over 35.5 total points
  • These two teams gave up a combined average of 51.7 points per game last season

Hall of Fame Game Form

  • Carolina Panthers are 1-0 in their previous Hall of Fame Game appearances
  • Carolina Panthers beat Jacksonville 20-14 in their last appearance in 1995
  • Arizona Cardinals are 2-2 in their previous Hall of Fame Game appearances
  • Arizona Cardinals lost 20-18 to Dallas in their last appearance in 2017

Carolina Panthers Won AFC South Last Season

Carolina won the AFC South and made it to the playoffs last season, despite finishing with a losing record.

The Panthers went 8-9 over the course of the regular season, but that was enough for them to beat Tampa Bay and Atlanta on tiebreakers, after all three teams posted the same record.

Their postseason campaign proved to be brief, but they were far from disgraced in a 34-31 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams.

Arizona Cardinals Went 3-14 Last Season

Arizona finished bottom of the NFC West in 2025, as they won just three of their 17 regular season games.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon was fired the day after the season came to an end, and the Cardinals also moved on from starting quarterback Kyler Murray.

Mike LaFleur has taken over as head coach, while Jacoby Brissett is expect to start at QB ahead of veteran Gardner Minshew and draft pick Carson Beck.
