Canada enter this semi-final matchup having won all eight of their World Championship games so far.
The Canadians entered the tournament as the favorites to lift the trophy, and they have so far lived up to that billing.
They opened with a 5-3 win over Sweden, and backed that up with blowout victories over Italy, 6-0, and Denmark, 5-1.
Canada then overcame Norway 6-5 in their only game to go beyond regulation, and wrapped up the group stage by beating Slovenia 3-1, Slovakia 5-1 and Czechia 3-2.
That set up a showdown with arch rivals, the United States, in the quarter-finals, and the Canadians gained a measure of revenge for their Winter Olympics loss as they won 4-0.
