Botic van de Zandschulp registered another dominant victory this week, defeating Mariano Navone in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, to reach the quarterfinals in Winston-Salem. He has dropped only three games across his two matches this week.
This is his third quarterfinal appearance in Winston-Salem, and he converted both of his previous appearances into deeper runs, including reaching the final last year. He will be looking to continue that streak at this stage of the tournament.
After a solid start to the season, he struggled in the middle of the year, winning only two matches across seven tournaments. However, he has rediscovered his level since the start of the North American hard-court swing, reaching the fourth round in Montreal a few weeks ago.
He has played two tour-level quarterfinals this year, losing to Alex de Minaur at this stage in Rotterdam but reaching the semifinals in Bucharest.
