Fabian Marozsan has lacked consistency this year, but there have been certain weeks when he has found his rhythm and produced some big results.

This Winston-Salem campaign has the makings of being one of those weeks, as he dominated Miomir Kecmanovic and then negotiated a tough three-set win over Martin Damm in the second round. If he can maintain that level, he should be in a strong position against James Duckworth.

Marozsan Chases Another Tour-Level Semifinal

  • Marozsan has a 3–0 record in tour-level quarterfinals this year.
  • He has a 13–8 record against players outside the Top 50 in 2026.
  • Duckworth has a 0–4 record in tour-level quarterfinals in North America.
  • He has a 7–13 record against Top 100 players this year.

Marozsan Finds a Timely Win in Winston-Salem

Fabian Marozsan defeated Martin Damm from a set down to reach the quarterfinals in Winston-Salem, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. After losing the opening set, he took full control of the match and broke his opponent three times across the final two sets to complete the comeback.

After a solid start to the season, Marozsan has struggled significantly in recent months, registering multiple main-draw wins in only two of his last 16 events.

He has played three tour-level quarterfinals this year and converted all of them into semifinal appearances, in Auckland, Bucharest and Mallorca. He will be looking to extend that impressive streak this week.

Duckworth's Dominant Run Continues in Winston-Salem

James Duckworth has won all three of his matches in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals in Winston-Salem, including victories over Mariano Navone and Lorenzo Sonego in his two most recent matches.

Before arriving this week, the Australian had struggled to find momentum on tour this year. He had cleared the opening-round hurdle seven times, but each of those runs ended without multiple main-draw wins.

Overall, Duckworth holds a 3-10 record in tour-level quarterfinals, including a 0-4 record in North America. However, he won his most recent tour-level quarterfinal in Almaty last year.
