Martin Landaluce has had complete control of this matchup, winning all four previous meetings against Matteo Bellucci, with three of those victories coming in straight sets. Landaluce is also in better form right now, which further strengthens his case.

With such a strong head-to-head record and the current form advantage, this looks like a very good spot to back the Spaniard at an appealing price.

Landaluce Looks To Rediscover His Winning Form

  • Martin Landaluce has failed to clear the first round in five of his last six events.
  • He has an 11–11 record against lower-ranked opponents this year.
  • Mattia Bellucci has a 1–0 record in opening-round matches at Winston-Salem.
  • He has lost five of his last six matches against players outside the Top 50.

Landaluce Chases a Strong Start in Winston-Salem

Martin Landaluce recently snapped a five-match losing streak in first-round matches by reaching the third round in Cincinnati, and he will be looking to build on that momentum this week.

He has also produced breakthrough results at Masters level this year, reaching the quarterfinals in Miami and Rome and the third round at the French Open. Outside those runs, however, he has not won multiple matches in any other tour-level event this season.

This is his debut appearance in Winston-Salem. He heads into the clash with a 5-7 record in first-round matches on tour this year.

Bellucci Targets Another Step Forward in Winston-Salem

Mattia Bellucci is coming off a second-round exit in Cincinnati last week. Despite the early loss, his performance was encouraging as he upset Zachary Svajda in the opening round before losing to Jakub Mensik in a tight three-set battle.

The Italian has been solid on the Challenger circuit but has struggled to replicate that level on the main tour. He has registered multiple main-draw wins only three times this year, reaching the quarterfinals in Acapulco and Stuttgart and the third round in Rome.

This is his second appearance in Winston-Salem. He reached the second round on his debut last year and will be looking to go further this time.
