Canada vs Switzerland Preview & Picks

Canada are tipped to build on their blowout opening-game win with another convincing victory.

With an elite goaltender and an offense that is simply loaded with elite talent, they can pull away from Switzerland on the scoreboard.

  • Canada won their tournament opener by 5 goals
  • Canada are yet to concede a goal in the 2026 Winter Olympics
  • The Under cashed in Canada’s opening game
  • The Under hit in Switzerland’s tournament opener

Head To Head

  • Canada lead the series 24-15-2 since 2002
  • Switzerland won 3-2 when the two teams last met in May 2024

Canada Form

Canada made a red-hot start to the tournament on Thursday, as they blew out the Czech Republic.

Five different players all scored as the Canadians powered to a 5-0 victory in Milan.

It was an ideal opening-night result for a team looking to rebound from last year’s shocking exit from the World Championship.

Canada cruised through the group stage of that competition by winning all but one of their games to reach the knockout phase.

However, the Canadians proved to be one-and-done in the knockouts as they suffered a stunning 2-1 defeat at the hands of Denmark.

Switzerland Form

Switzerland also enter this matchup having made a strong start to the Winter Olympics.

The Swiss kicked off the tournament against France on Thursday, and stormed to a 4-0 victory in their first outing.

It was an impressive start as they finally snapped a five-game losing skid that they had been on since the World Championship.

Switzerland went agonisingly close in the Worlds, losing 1-0 in overtime to the United States in last year’s final.

The Swiss then won their first game following that tournament, beating Finland 3-1, only to then go on and lose a bunch of games to the Czech Republic, Sweden and the Finns.
