Chicago vs Inter Miami Preview & Picks

Chicago Fire made it two without a win in the league as they were held to a 2-2 draw by New York City in their last outing.

Inter Miami eased past Cincinnati in their last game as they notched a 2-0 win that sent them eight-points clear at the summit.

  • Chicago have not won either of their last two matches
  • Inter have won their last three games
  • Luis Suarez scored a brace in his last match for Miami

Head-To-Head

Chicago have won four of their seven meetings with their opponents. In this time, there has been a single draw, with Miami winning the other two.

Chicago Form

Chicago have struggled to truly establish themselves this season, with the Fire sitting in 13th in the Eastern Conference with 26 points. While they are only two short of Atlanta United in ninth, they are right in the middle of an incredibly congested section of the standings.

Their disappointing positioning comes despite beating a Cincinnati side that currently sits second in the Eastern Conference. Since then, they have lost to Inter Miami and drawn with New York City.

Clearly, Chicago have found it tough to back one win up with another. An elongated run of victories would likely see Chicago fly up the standings as most of the sides around them continue to flounder. However, with just four wins in 12 home games this term, it is tough to see them beating Miami.

Inter Miami Form

Inter Miami have continued to set the pace in the Eastern Conference, with 56 points coming from their opening 26 matches.

Their eight-point lead at the top of the Conference comes on the back of a three-match winning run that has coincided with a four-game losing run for closest rival Cincinnati. Impressively, Inter beat Cincinnati in their last outing, while they have eight wins in 12 away games this term.

While Chicago will not be easy to beat, with Luis Suarez up-front and scoring consistently, we are backing Inter to pick up another crucial win.
