Columbus Crew vs Philadelphia Union Preview & Picks

Columbus Crew beat New York City on penalties in the last round to secure their place in the last-four of the Leagues Cup.

Philadelphia Union also needed penalties to win their Leagues Cup quarter-final as they downed Mazatlan following a 1-1 draw.

  • Columbus have won their last three matches
  • Columbus have seen both teams score in their last two
  • Union have seen both sides score in their last two matches

Head-To-Head

In their last 10 meetings, the Crew have won three times, Union have four wins and there have been three draws.

Columbus Crew Form

Columbus Crew have looked good at the 2024 Leagues Cup, with the side deservedly taking their place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Their 3-2 win over Inter Miami in the Round of 16 remains a particular highlight as they came from 2-0 down to secure a stunning 3-2 triumph. This was then followed by a tighter win over New York City on penalties.

Now, with a shot at the trophy if they can secure victory in the semi-final, we are backing the Crew to amass yet another impressive win.

Philadelphia Union Form

Philadelphia Union had to deal with losing a man in the 46th minute in their quarter-final with Mazatlan. Despite netting two minutes after the red card, the Union knew they would be on the backfoot for most of the game, and so it proved.

Despite this, they did manage to secure a battling win on penalties, with Philadelphia still alive in a cup they are now dreaming about winning.

While Union will give the Crew a run for their money in this one, we are backing them to slip to an agonising defeat in the semi-final of the Leagues Cup.
