Columbus Crew vs Seattle Sounders Preview & Picks

Columbus Crew eased to a 4-2 win over New York City in their last game as they made it two wins in as many outings.

Seattle Sounders were beaten 1-0 by the Portland Timbers as they slipped to a second defeat in their last three.

Head-To-Head

The Crew have won five of their last 10 against Seattle, with the latter winning three times and two games ending as draws.

Columbus Crew Form

Columbus Crew continue to impress in the Eastern Conference, with the side currently sitting in third in the standings with 49 points.

Their points tally means they are 19 clear of Philadelphia in 10th, although they are 10 short of Inter Miami at the summit. With two games in hand, they can close the gap on the leaders to four points, but most teams will agree points in the bank are far better than games in hand.

With seven wins in 12 home games this term, the Crew have been brilliant, and they will fancy themselves to ensure they do not add to their single defeat on their own patch.

Seattle Sounders Form

The Seattle Sounders slipped to a 1-0 loss at the hands of the Portland Timbers in their last match as they failed to build on a 3-2 win over Minnesota United.

This win followed a comfortable 3-0 loss to LAFC in late-July, with this their final match before the Leagues Cup began.

A single win in their last three MLS matches is hardly an ideal run, while they have lost seven times across their 14 away games. With this in mind, this one will likely end in defeat for a side that struggles massively on the road.
