Inter Miami vs Atlanta United Preview & Picks

Inter Miami are looking to build on a stunning regular season campaign after winning 22 of their 34 matches and finishing at the top of the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta United finished the season in ninth and had to defeat Montreal in a one-off playoff clash to set up their game against Miami.

  • Inter have won their last three matches
  • The pair have seen both teams score in their last three meetings
  • Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick for Miami in his last appearance

Head-To-Head

In their last 10 meetings, Miami have secured three wins, with United notching five victories and two games ending as draws.

Inter Miami Form

Inter Miami have looked incredibly strong this season, and they have every chance of being the last side left standing this term.

22 wins have come alongside eight draws and four defeats in a strong run. While they have conceded 49 goals in 34 games, they have outscored every other side in the competition, scoring 79 goals across their campaign.

Their goal-scoring exploits have been in large part down to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, who have both scored 20 times this season. With the pressure now well and truly on, we are backing Messi to come up trumps once again for his side.

Atlanta United Form

Atlanta United needed penalties to finally defeat Montreal in their last match as their entertaining 2-2 draw saw the pair separated by spot-kicks.

Prior to this, Atlanta had been in fairly good form, finishing in ninth with 10 wins in 34. While they did just enough to finish in the top-nine, it was far from comfortable, with four teams finishing within four points of them in a tight finale to the regular season.

While United arrive knowing they can play with freedom as the underdogs, they cannot afford to be loose against a Miami side that will punish them.
