LAFC vs Club Tijuana Preview & Picks

LAFC arrive for the Leagues Cup on the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders in the MLS.

Club Tijuana made it two without a win in the league as they were held to a 1-1 draw by San Luis.

  • LAFC have won five of their last seven matches
  • Club Tijuana have lost two of their last four on the road
  • LAFC have seen over 2.5 goals in six of their last seven

Head-To-Head

This will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive match.

LAFC Form

LAFC have looked in decent form this season, with the side sitting in second in the Western Conference following 14 wins in their opening 24 matches.

With two games in hand over fierce rivals LA Galaxy at the summit, LAFC will be confident they can top their conference this season. The Leagues Cup will likely constitute an excellent chance for some more peripheral players to get a run out as the side looks to build a run of positive results heading towards the play-offs.

While the two sides have not played a competitive match against the other, LAFC will be confident heading into this one, especially after their very comfortable win over the Sounders in their last outing.

Club Tijuana Form

Club Tijuana began their new LIGA MX season with a pair of wins, but they have since slipped to a defeat and a draw, with the side struggling to keep the ball out of their own net of late.

Four goals conceded and one scored in their last two matches shows they have issues at both ends of the pitch, which makes their clash with LAFC even more worrying.

Their opponents are averaging two goals per game in the league, and while they have conceded 30 times, they have won more than half of their 24 outings.
