A 2-1 win at home over the Whitecaps was followed by a damning 3-0 defeat on the road. Needing a win, LAFC squeezed past their opponents in a 1-0 win to move into the Conference semi-finals. While it was hardly convincing, securing victory was all that mattered, with the LAFC bandwagon trundling on.
LAFC have won their last six against the Sounders, while they are unbeaten in their last 10 against their opponents. While past form will not carry the home side through, they will know they have the psychological edge in this match.
Seattle Sounders Form
The Seattle Sounders only needed two matches to eliminate the Houston Dynamo in the last round, winning 1-0 at home before securing a 2-1 win on the road.
While the Sounders have had an extra week off to prepare, the fact they have not played since November 4 may come back to bite them. Indeed, Seattle need everything to go their way if they are to end their disappointing run against LAFC.
While this may be a nervy clash between the pair, I am backing LAFC to secure a clean sheet for the fourth time against the Sounders.
