LAFC vs Vancouver Preview & Picks

LAFC moved to the top of Leagues Cup Group 7 with a comfortable win over Club Tijuana in game one.

Vancouver will take to the field for the first time after having to sit out round one of the competition.

  • LAFC have beaten Vancouver to nil in their last two meetings
  • LAFC won their opening Leagues Cup match 3-0 against Club Tijuana

Head-To-Head

LAFC have won six of their last 10 against Vancouver, with the Whitecaps winning twice and two games ending as draws.

LAFC Form

LAFC were far too strong for Club Tijuana in their opening match as they notched all three points with a comfortable 3-0 win over their opponents.

This followed on from a 3-0 win over the Seattle Sounders in the game before, with LAFC now boasting two wins in their last two in all competitions. A draw in this match will see LAFC move onto four points, meaning Club Tijuana would not be able to catch them regardless of the result in their clash with Vancouver.

However, we are backing LAFC to secure the win as they look to make it three consecutive wins in all competitions. With the Leagues Cup likely to jump up in quality after the group-stage, LAFC will be desperate to ensure they are building with each passing game.

Vancouver Form

Vancouver had to watch on from the sidelines in round one as they saw LAFC take a commanding lead at the summit of their group.

The Whitecaps arrive for this one knowing that a defeat would not be the end of their campaign, but it would set up a winner-takes-all clash with Club Tijuana in their final game. This only intensifies their need for a win.

However, with two defeats in their last two, Vancouver will likely have to stomach a defeat in their opening match as LAFC secure top-spot with a second consecutive win.
