Premier League Preview - Week 4 - September 12th-14th

The unbeaten Bees have been in solid form, collecting five points from their first three fixtures. Keith Andrews's side began the season with an impressive 3-0 victory against Tottenham before successive 1-1 draws against Leeds and Sunderland.

Bournemouth have been less convincing, collecting only two points from games against Manchester City, Everton and Newcastle. 

Recent meetings offer plenty of encouragement for the visitors. Brentford are unbeaten in their last ten encounters with Bournemouth, winning seven, while three of their previous four trips to this venue ended in victory.

Chelsea host unbeaten Hull at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with the Blues proving one of the most entertaining sides to watch 

The Londoners come into this fixture in high spirits after a remarkable 6-3 League Cup victory against Leeds on Wednesday. Xabi Alonso's side recovered from two goals down in another thrilling contest in West London.

Goals have been a recurring theme in Chelsea's early-season results. A 3-2 victory at Fulham and a 4-3 home win against Brighton preceded last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Arsenal. Three of those four league and cup fixtures finished with at least five goals.

Hull make the trip to London with plenty of optimism after a superb start to their first EPL season in ten years. The Tigers kept clean sheets in all three opening league matches, taking seven points, before a narrow 1-0 League Cup defeat at Sunderland on Tuesday.

While the Tigers have impressed, another high-scoring home win seems likely this weekend.

Spurs return to London still searching for their first win and goal of the season. Defeats against Brentford and Newcastle were followed by a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest, leaving Roberto De Zerbi's side with one point on the board.

Tottenham failed to register a shot on target at the City Ground, and their lack of attacking threat makes them difficult to support against an Everton side that has an excellent away record in 2026.

The Toffees salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester United last weekend, and remain unbeaten after a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth. Everton have scored in all three league games, collecting five points while conceding only three goals.

Moyes’s men have a poor record at this venue, but should be confident of emerging with at least a point.

Saturday's action sees Aston Villa welcome Nottingham Forest to Villa Park. The hosts finally found their scoring touch in Tuesday's 3-2 Champions League victory at Club Brugge after failing to score in their opening three league fixtures.

Forest come into this fixture still searching for their first win of the season and with neither team yet to convince, a low-scoring outcome is expected.

At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace take on Ipswich after picking up back-to-back wins in the past week. The Eagles backed up Saturday's 3-2 victory at Fulham with a comfortable 3-0 League Cup win against Middlesbrough.

Ipswich have found life tougher since their opening victory against Sunderland, conceding seven goals in successive defeats against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Palace look capable of building on their improved attacking performances, and a home win should be on the cards.

Liverpool return to Premier League action against Fulham at Anfield after Wednesday's 2-1 Champions League victory against Atletico Madrid.

The Reds remain unbeaten in the league, while Fulham have lost all three opening fixtures. The visitors did score twice against both Chelsea and Crystal Palace, suggesting they can contribute to an entertaining contest.

Liverpool should prove too strong, with a home win and over 2.5 goals the preferred pick.

Saturday's late fixture sees in-form Arsenal head north to take on Sunderland. The champions have won their first three EPL matches, conceding just once, before securing a dominant 1-0 win at Napoli in their first UCL fixture on Wednesday. 

Sunderland should make the Gunners work for their points, but anything other than a straightforward away win would be a surprise. 

On Sunday, goalless and pointless Coventry host Brighton. A narrow 1-0 defeat at Manchester City last weekend offered some encouragement, but the hosts still look short of attacking quality.

Brighton have already scored eight league goals, including four against Aston Villa and three at Chelsea, and another road victory is expected.

Later in the afternoon, the weekend’s biggest game takes place at Old Trafford as Man Utd and Man City contest the season’s first Manchester derby.

Both teams secured midweek Champions League victories, and a competitive encounter should see BTTS land. A tough one to call, a share of the spoils seems likely.

Finally, Leeds welcome Newcastle to Elland Road on Monday with both sides unbeaten after three Premier League fixtures.

Leeds collected five points before Wednesday's extraordinary 6-3 League Cup defeat at Chelsea. Newcastle have also taken five points, with their league games against Liverpool and Bournemouth both finishing 2-2.

Both sides scored in each of their opening three league fixtures, suggesting a BTTS pick looks reliable.
