USA vs Oman Preview & Picks - USA To Post Shutout Win

USA vs Oman Preview & Picks

Friendly matches are often hard to gauge, but the US should have more than enough quality to take care of Oman at Allianz Field.

Gregg Berhalter´s men usually keep it clean when they emerge victorious, so I´m backing the US to win to nil.

  • USA have kept a clean sheet in their last 6 victories
  • USA have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 9 games

Head To Head

  • This is the first ever meeting between the two teams

USA Form

The US maintained their strong form of 2023 with a comfortable 3-0 win against Uzbekistan on Saturday.

Gregg Berhalter´s side have lost just once in 12 games played this year - a penalty shootout defeat in the Gold Cup semi-final against Honduras.

On home soil, USA have lost just one of their previous 36 games in the regulation 90 minutes.

Head coach Berhalter will be forced into at least one change from the side that eased past Uzbekistan, with Lucas de la Torre set to miss out.

On-form Ricardo Pepi could come into the starting XI, with Monaca forward Folarin Balogun likely to drop out of the US selection. Pepi has scored five goals in his last five appearances for the Stars and Stripes.

Oman Form

Oman arrives in the US in good form, with successive victories against Turkmenistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Palestine collected since June.

The Reds have enjoyed a decent year with seven wins and just two losses from their last 12 matches.

Srečko Katanec´s side are currently 73rd in the FIFA Rankings, some 62 places below their hosts.

The Reds have no further injury issues ahead of Tuesday´s friendly in Minnesota.

Head coach Katance will likely keep faith with the same XI that edged to a 2-1 against Palestine last week.
