Zverev Looks to Rediscover His Best Level in New York
Alexander Zverev was forced into another long match, this time against Quentin Halys in the second round, eventually winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3. He lost his serve four times and converted only five of the 20 break points he created during the match.
This is his eighth consecutive third-round appearance at the US Open. He has lost only two of his previous seven matches at this stage, including his most recent defeat against Felix Auger-Aliassime in 2025.

Tabilo Builds Confidence With Another Strong Comeback
Alejandro Tabilo moved into the third round after defeating Yannick Hanfmann from a set down, 2-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-2. After losing the opening set, he did not lose serve again and raised his level on the crucial points before finishing the match strongly.
This is Tabilo's best result at the US Open. He had played here five times previously but managed only one main-draw win across those appearances.
The Argentine has produced solid results during the North American swing, reaching the semifinals in Washington and the third round in Cincinnati. Two of his three losses during this stretch came against the rising Rafael Jodar.
