Zverev Eyes Another Deep Run in New York
After back-to-back five-set encounters, Alexander Zverev reached the fourth round with a more comfortable straight-set victory over Alejandro Tabilo, winning 6-2, 7-6, 6-2. He lost his serve twice but broke his opponent six times during the match.
This is Zverev's sixth fourth-round appearance at the US Open. Except for his loss to Diego Schwartzman at this stage in 2019, he has won his last four matches at this stage and will look to extend that streak this week.
He has played 13 events against Top 10 opposition this year and reached at least the semifinals in nine of them, including the title at Roland Garros, the final at Wimbledon and the semifinals at the Australian Open.

Darderi Continues Breakthrough Season With Second-Week Run
Luciano Darderi moved into the second week at the US Open after defeating Dane Sweeny in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. He served seven aces and saved six of the eight break points he faced during the match.
This is Darderi's best result at the US Open. Last year, he reached the third round before losing to Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.
The Italian has steadily raised his level this year and produced consistent results on tour, reaching 10 quarterfinals or better, including three clay-court finals, a semifinal in Rome, a quarterfinal in Montreal and the fourth round at the Australian Open.
This is only his second fourth-round appearance at a Grand Slam, with his previous one coming earlier this year at the Australian Open, where he lost to Jannik Sinner in straight sets. He will now face the World No. 2 again at this stage.
